1st Recruitment Group and the people of Gorey raise £770 for Headway Jersey

Last Saturday the people of Gorey, Jersey donned Christmas attire to take part in the 1^st Recruitment Group Christmas Petanque Doubles cup competition in aid of Headway Jersey. Starting early, 15 teams participated in group games initially before group winners and runners up progressed to the knockout rounds. Aided by mulled wine and Christmas music, a competitive yet humorous competition ensued. The tournament was ultimately won by "Taylor Made" who beat the "The Petanque Shop Boys" in the final. The tournament was followed by a Christmas lunch and quiz at the Bass & Lobster. A total of £770 was eventually raised for Headway Jersey.

1^st Recruitment Group would like to say a big thank you to all those that participated in the tournament as well as the patrons of the Dolphin Hotel who gave generously. Also a big thank you to the Old Bank House, Gorey for kindly donating a raffle prize.
