£3,050.56 raised for "The Love Hearts Appeal"

Building on from the success of last year’s tournament 1^st Recruitment Group are pleased to announce that their recently sponsored petanque doubles knockout tournament raised over £3,000 for  "The Love Hearts Appeal".

Last Saturday in Gorey, Jersey saw over 27 teams (including teams from the UK) compete in group qualifying matches initially before ultimately going on to contest in the knockout stage with the top two teams qualifying for the cup whilst the third placed teams competed for the plate trophy. With great support from families and local businesses the event was competitive whilst being fun at the same time as was demonstrated by the some of the team names entered for the tournament including "The Petanque Shop Boys", "The Incrediboules" and "The Boules Supremacy". The cup was ultimately won by "St. Peter’s Ballon D’Ors" with "Only Boules & Horses" winning the plate trophy.
